I asked God for strength, that I might achieve
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey
I asked for health, that I might do greater things,
I was given infirmity that I might do better things
I asked for riches, that I might be happy
I was given poverty, that I might be wise
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things
almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered
I am, among all men, most richly blessed.



Phillipians 4: (12) I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Romans 5: (3) Not only so but we rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perserverance; (4) perserverance, character; and character, hope. (5) And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom he has given us. (6) You see, at just the right time, when we were powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
